Ras Sekou S. Tafari
Sekou Tafari was a former Secretary General and former first Vice President of the Writers Union of Trinidad and Tobago, Sekou published an anthology of poems depicting the social and political struggle of the Caribbean entitled "In Memory". He is the founder and publisher of the most widely read and circulated Rastafari newspaper: Rastafari Speaks, which began in 1980. He also assisted in coordinating the newspaper "School Times"; and is presently engaged in researching outstanding Caribbean and African personalities for the main purpose of educating Caribbean children about their heroes and sheroes. He is also currently the CEO of Frontline Books Int'l Inc, based in Chicago.
This book "From the Maroons to Marcus" is written very simply, and therefore it should be used by both the young and old reader who are interested in knowing about a great Caribbean and African man.
